"Save the Hayne" is a group of concerned, organized residents living in the Castle Hayne area. Our group’s focus is to maintain the low-density residential agricultural (RA) zoning that has allowed Castle Hayne to become a beautiful and unique corner of New Hanover County. The RA zoning has fostered an environment which encourages the creation of working farms, popular parks, clean waterways, wooded neighborhoods, and a calm pace of life. These things are enjoyed not only by her residents, but also by the many people who come to this area to work and play every day. We support growth, but are dedicated to making sure that it does not come at the expense of the residents, farmers, wildlife and woodlands that make this area great. We seek to raise awareness, gain support, and pursue all avenues to achieve this goal.
